Expert Faculty
Kathy is the Associate Director, Systems-Based Initiatives for Med-IQ. In her current role, she oversees more than 1,000 accredited educational activities each year, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and educational quality.
Kathy has been a registered nurse for more than 33 years, with experience in the ED, critical care, and continuing medical education areas. She earned her BSN from Michigan State University and MSN from Western Governors' University. Kathy has presented nationally at the AACN’s National Teaching Institute and Critical Care Exposition, the Alliance annual conference and the ASHRM annual conference. Kathy is a former President of the Michigan Society of Healthcare Risk Management’s Board of Directors.
Janelle joined Coverys as a risk consultant in 2002 and transitioned to Coverys Education after she “retired” as a risk consultant. But— surprise!—she didn’t really retire, instead becoming the primary instructor for the Risk Management Development Program (RMDP). Janelle is an engaging and highly skilled educator who excels at maximizing educational interaction, even from reserved participants in a virtual environment. Recently, she began hosting all of the office hours for the RMDP after it migrated to the Brightspace platform, providing an effective combination of mentorship and education.
